Corruptok, a Showcase of the Global Capitocracy

Trying to pay attention to the news in America under the second Trump administration feels like a Sisyphean task. We're always witnessing never-ending scandals and impishly standing by as some of the most corrupt abuses of office are being undertaken by some of the dumbest people on Earth.

Yet, like many things in the World, there are people out there who can confidently say that they're along for the ride with their corrupt politicians just like we are, so, despite living thousands of miles away in a foreign land that we might never see, we can truly see and understand that we are all suffering the same.

In a phenomenon that is still only partially understood by Black Label Detroit, disgruntled citizens are taking to Tiktok and exposing their so-called "leaders" as nothing other than corrupt oligarchs and bloodsuckers of their nations' collective wealth using biting satire and relentless ridicule.

From what this publication can gather, "Corruptok" (as it's come to be known) originated among Nigerian users as they poked fun at current president Bola Amed Tinubu's scandals, what's interesting to note is that, instead of making these memes in any of Nigeria's official languages, they're all in English and nearly every single video very fittingly has the chorus of Lifestyle by Young Thug playing in the background, almost as if these memes were specifically made to hold up a mirror to an American audience.

As of writing this report, the meme has caught on with users across the African continent, the Indian subcontinent, Eastern Europe, and there's even a couple videos from here in the United States showcasing Trump's blatant corruption in a humorous way that doesn't feel forced or seems preachy.

It's the opinion of Black Label Detroit that there hasn't ever been an outpouring of sarcasm and glee among internet users at least since the initial stages of the Luigi Mangione case, only this time it's playing out on a global scale.

Radicals in the states are often quarreling with each other regarding which group should be the leaders of the capital "R" Revolution, the workers of the first world? the people in the intentionally underdeveloped world? This publication won't take a stance on this unproductive topic (because it relies upon different interpretations of works written by Revolutionaries acting within the context of the times that they lived in a hundred years ago) but, what we will say is that the people of this planet have more in common than than our unscrupulous masters want us to believe. Since there is no city, state, province, region, or country that allows it's citizens to have just as much, in not more, agency in their lives than the Capitocratic class does, we predict that this socially conscious phenomena will become more common, and eventually, when our politicians fuck up enough, maybe our shared bonds of class solidarity will carry us into a future where we no longer have any corrupt masters and we are all allowed to regain a sense of direction and development in our lives.
